Fred ScheerFred Scheer, Founder/Partner
Fred is an entrepreneur and real-estate developer from Hayward, Wisconsin. Fred’s vision for Sierpe del Pacifico came together in the fall of 2006 after visiting friend and real estate broker Jim Cameron for some fishing and property viewing. Fred caught a lot of fish that trip...but more importantly, he caught a great idea for an eco-adventure community for like-minded individuals. The pioneering project has since taken form, and Fred’s vision is now complete. Fred visits Sierpe about 4 times a year, to raise sailfish by day and enjoy cervesas and sunsets by night.

Fred is married with two grown children and enjoys cross-country skiing, in-line skate racing, hunting, and fishing in his spare time. Interesting tidbit: Fred is a 4 time world-champion men’s logroller and has placed in his age-group in North America’s premier cross-country ski event, The American Birkebeiner.

Jay HoeschlerJay Hoeschler, Co-Founder/Partner
Jay is a real-estate developer and broker from La Crosse, Wisconsin. As president and sole owner of Hoeschler Realty Corporation, and co- owner of Gerrard-Hoeschler Realtors, Inc., Jay has over thirty-three years of real estate experience.

Jay’s real estate development experience includes projects in Wisconsin, Mexico, and now Costa Rica. He has conceived and developed award-winning projects that are recognized for their quality design and successful returns, both civic and financial. These projects include master-planned residential communities, business parks, luxury apartments, manufactured housing communities, and mixed-use residential and commercial urban in-fill projects.

The Sierpe del Pacifico team benefits greatly from Jay’s experience working with local municipalities; national and international government agencies; and in the areas of public/private partnerships, financing, zoning, environmental regulations, and waterway regulations.

Jay enjoys downhill skiing, boating, the arts, and travel with his wife, Judy (who is also Fred's sister), and their four grown children. In addition to having served on many business and charitable boards, Jay was a director for the Federal Reserve Bank – Minneapolis Ninth District for six years, serving as Chair of its Audit Committee.

CassidyCassidy Scheer,
Development Coordinator/Sales

Cassidy, son of Fred, has been actively managing the Sierpe del Pacifico development on site since November of 2007. A 2004 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Cassidy has been managing other Fred Scheer business interests since 1999. When the opportunity to help bring Fred’s vision of Sierpe del Pacifico to fruition was presented to Cassidy in the spring of 2007, he jumped on the opportunity. After living in Sierpe for year and a half, Cassidy speaks Spanish, has become acquainted and comfortable with the Costa Rica real estate process, and has assembled the local team of professionals working to realize the Sierpe del Pacifico vision.

Cassidy lives in central Sierpe, but with the recent completion of the Sierpe del Pacifico model home he has been making the Sierpe del Pacifico experience an even bigger part of his life a couple of nights each week. Whenever he gets a shred of spare time he is fishing the mangroves for sea bass and snook, or aboard the La Carlita attempting to catch (and release) his first blue marlin.

GuillermoGuillermo Gonzalez-Serrano,
Operations Manager

Guillermo has been a resident of the Osa Peninsula his entire life and brings a wealth of “local” knowledge about all things important to this project that only a lifelong Costa Rican could provide. Guillermo’s daily routine can range from nurturing business relationships at the local municipal office to building water delivery solutions for the Sierpe del Pacifico property. Guillermo’s family was the previous owner of the land that is now Sierpe del Pacifico, and he has been a part of the project since its inception. Guillermo speaks excellent English and will likely play an important role in managing the Sierpe del Pacifico river concierge service.

Guillermo is married with two young sons and lives in central Sierpe. He is very active in the local community and church, and enjoys volunteer work, fishing and spending time with his family.

MarcMarc LeRoux,
Builder/Creative Consultant

Originally from Quebec, Canada, Marc LeRoux has been living and working in Sierpe as an independent contractor since 2005. Cassidy and Marc were introduced in December of 2007 and it quickly became apparent that Marc’s understanding of how to mesh Costa Rican building techniques, capabilities, and materials with the desired aesthetics and function of the Sierpe del Pacifico community, would contribute greatly to the development. Marc finished construction of the Sierpe del Pacifico model home in August of 2008, and will begin construction of the Sierpe del Pacifico owner’s cabin in May of 2009. Additionally, Marc’s creative touches can be seen throughout the Sierpe del Pacifico property whether it be his rustic furniture adorning the model home, adventurous placement of viewpoint platforms and ranchos, or strategic emphasis of visually impacting natural rainforest occurrences.

Marc lives in Sierpe with his wife Shani, but is hoping to make the move out to Sierpe del Pacifico, as he has his eye on lot number 14. In his spare time he enjoys wood-working, bird-watching, and spending time with his two dogs. Marc caught the passion of sport fishing since joining the Sierpe del Pacifico team, and hopes to land his first pez vela (sailfish) soon.

GeovannyGeovanny Rosales-Mendez,
Operations Assistant

Geovanny, the newest member of the Sierpe del Pacifico team is quickly earning recognition as one of our hardest workers. Regardless of what is on the daily task list, Geovanny is tackling it with diligence by 5:00 am. In addition to leading day labor teams with on-going site improvements to Sierpe del Pacifico, Geovanny is also our resident wildlife expert. Originally from the mountainous area of Miramar, Geovanny brings expertise on recognizing and fostering ecological interactions on the Sierpe del Pacifico property. Geovanny is also a master tracker, and was the first person to identify Jaguar tracks on the property in November of 2008.

Geovanny lives in central Sierpe with his family. He is very active in his church, is taking English lessons, and likes cruising around Sierpe on his recently purchased motorcycle.
